Begin with the product
A sachet project starts with what goes inside the pack. Describe the product and the desired quantity per pack, and provide a representative sample. The supplier can then discuss the filling approach and any trials needed for the specific application.
Think about the whole pack
Pack dimensions, artwork and opening features should be considered together. A sample layout can help the team discuss where seals, printed information and any opening feature will sit on the finished sachet.
Discuss materials before committing
Packaging film needs to be evaluated for the intended product and process. Share the proposed film specification with the supplier and agree on how it will be assessed. Avoid treating a visual mockup as a substitute for a production sample.
Agree on what to review
Before a demonstration, prepare a short list of points to discuss: the finished pack, filling consistency, seal appearance and changeover requirements. Record the observations and outstanding questions so the next step is clear.
